Somali government forces on Wednesday arrested a soldier who fired at a school bus killing a girl and wounding others in the capital, Mogadishu.
Witnesses confirm that the shooting took place on midday September 18, 2018, after sections of government forces clashed exchanging gunfire at a location near Digfeer hospital where Deeqa Dahir Farah got killed while in a school bus.
Security officials revealed that the soldier and two other officers were suspected to be behind the assassination of Deeqa Dahir and have been arrested in a special operation by the police.
Investigative arms of the Somali Police launched h investigations against the suspects on the cause of shooting, as well as the killing of the young girl. Relatives of the slain girl thanked the Federal Government for the arrest of the killer of their daughter and are hoping to receive justice for Deqa in due course.
According to her parents, Deeqa Dahir Farah was a in her first grade and loved her education.
The Somali public have been deeply saddened by the killing of the young girls and demanded the government bring the perpetrators to book.
